Twitter announces application process for verified accounts
Share
9th August 2016
Twitter announced back in July that users can now submit an online application form in order to receive the ‘blue tick’ in other words verified status.
Before for Twitter to verify your account they chose who got the blue tick and it was usually celebrities, athletes and major brands. The reason for verified accounts was so users could find the real account and not some fake account that someone had created.
An account may be verified if it is determined to be of public interest. The aim of the submission process is to allow more accounts to be found and verified. Typically these include accounts maintained by public figures and organizations in music, TV, film, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business, and other key interest areas.
