Looking back at October 2016

The countdown to Christmas is officially on, Halloween has now passed and the clocks have officially gone back, bringing us the dark evenings once again.

Let’s take a look back at October:

  • One story we wanted to pick up on that we mentioned in our last posting at the end of September was the #HurricaneMatthew story. Unfortunately it caused total destruction and reached speeds of 160mph. Flooding, property damage and loss of life was an unfortunate outcome of the storm. We just hope that anyone effected can recover and come back from this unfortunate event.
  • Another unfortunate act of god was the #Earthquakes in #Italy. A powerful 6.6-magnitude earthquake rocked central #Italy, injuring at least 20 people, in the strongest tremor to hit the country in more than three decades. This earthquake follows tremors #Italy suffered the week before and come on the heels of a deva testing #Earthquake in August, which killed nearly 300 people and flattened entire villages.
  • One event that happened at the end of October was #Halloween and as usual towns, cities and villages across the UK dressed up in the spirit of things. We saw some great costumes at the end of October and some great make up. Kids across the UK were out collecting sweets and chocolate (hopefully no sprouts caked in chocolate). Search #Halloween on Twitter to see what went on.
  • #Vodafone hit the headlines in October as they were fined £4.6 million for poor customer service. Although the fine probably won’t financially affect the company the mark it left could damage their reputation. We know plenty of #Vodafone customers who have been effected by #Vodafone, hopefully  act on this and give their customers the service they are expecting.
  • Looking at the world of technology, #Samsung officially pulled the plug on the #GalaxyNote7 for good. I’m sure many of you are aware that #Samsung were having difficulties with the batteries and them seemingly bursting into flames (in some cases). In October #Samsung officially recalled all #GalaxyNote7 sending all customers fire proof boxes to send them back in. A big blow for #Samsung with the run up to Christmas coming up.
