Looking back at February 2017

Share

1st March 2017

February has been and gone and it being the shortest month of the year it’s no wonder! We’re now entering March where the clocks also change bringing lighter evenings and hopefully the start of some nice weather.

Although February was a short month a lot happened, let’s take a look back:

  • In February we came across #StormDoris, it was named on the 21st February 2017 as yellow and amber warnings for wind, snow and rain were issued by the Met Office. #StormDoris brought winds of up to 94 mph in some parts of the UK. As expected there was some destruction of outdoor furniture/structures and trees. Unfortunately it did also result in deaths, a sad reminder of the danger of mother nature.
  • We also had the final of the #EFLCup where #ManchesterUnited took on #Southampton at #Wembley. #ManchesterUnited were 3-2 winners on the day, thanks to Ibrahimovic. #Southampton was probably the best team overall on reflection but the experience and quality got #ManchesterUnited there in the end. First of many for Jose’s #MancheserUnited?
  • In February we also had the #Oscars which gets everyone talking worldwide. A noticeable winner at the #Oscars was #Moonlight for ‘best picture’ although #LaLaLand was mistakenly announced as winner. Congratulations to all the winners.
  • With the Oscars we also had the music equivalent in the form of the #BritAwards. #LittleMix finally got their hands on a #BritAward for ‘best single’. As you can imagine there was a lot of tributes to #DavidBowie which was a lovely touch. We were also treated to some great live performances and special guests. Congratulations to all the winners.
  • Back to football and a sacking that caught us all by surprise and that was the sacking of #Ranieri. A man that had took Leicester City to the top of the Premier League and crowning them champions the season before. Although the decision has split opinion it was quite a surprising one after the owners came out publicly just weeks before stating their backing for #Ranieri.
