May seemed to have flown by, although this was overshadowed by an awful tragedy in Manchester.

Let’s take a look back at May:

  • As I mentioned at the start, May suffered an unfortunate tragedy with the #Manchester bombing. As I’m sure many of you know, a bomb was detonated by a terrorist group at the #ManchesterArena after an Ariana Grande concert. A total of 22 people died in the tragedy with many more being injured. A lot of the casualties were young people. Since the attack, Britain has raised it threat level to critical (the highest threat level possible). Soldiers have been deployed across parts of the UK so the police can focus on carrying out their duties. The Hashtag Directory sends its condolences to all the families and friends affected by the tragedy. Show your support by tweeting #PrayForManchester.
  • The football season has come to an end we now know who the #Champions are and what teams made it in to next seasons #ChampionsLeague. #Chelsea were crowned #PremierLeagueChampions, #RealMadrid were crowned #LaLigaChampions, #BayernMunich were crowned #BundesligaChampions and #Juventus were crowned #SerieAChampions. Over in cup competitons #ManchesterUnited were crowned #UELChampions meaning they are back in the #ChampionsLeaugue next season. We have the #ChampionsLeagueFinal between #RealMadrid & #Juventus being played at the start of June so we will catch up with in next month’s post.
  • In May we were treated to two #BankHolidays, one at the start and one towards the end of the month. A welcome break for many across the UK, ourselves included. The next #BankHoliday isn’t until the end of Summer now, in August. We’d love to see what you got up to during your #BankHoliday, drop us a tweet.
  • During May the #Weather has been up and down, we’ve experience glorious sunshine but also experienced days of downpours. Towards the end of May the #Weather improved with temperatures picking up. We even saw temperatures reach the mid to high 20s. We’ve got our fingers crossed that June brings us even more sun and high temperatures.
  • Over in #Australia, #Ben&Jerry’s have banned the double scoop of the same flavour until #Australia has marriage equality. It has been met with a mixed reaction, as you can probably expect. What do you think of this?
