September has been and gone and it’s been quite an extraordinary month around the world. Let’s take a look back:
A big story of September was the devastating #HurricaneIrma. It was an extremely powerful hurricane that effected the Caribbean Islands and mainland Florida. A maximum wind speed of #HurricaneIrma was recorded at 185mph and it maintained this speed for many hours causing complete destruction. We can only imagine what a scary time this must have been for the people effected. We hope everyone managed to stay safe and can somehow start rebuilding their homes and life’s.
London was unfortunately hit by another #TerrorAttack at #ParsonsGreen underground station. Pictures that were posted online showed a bucket inside a bag on fire. This caused injuries to many people travelling on the underground. This was later confirmed as an attempted #TerrorAttack. The official threat level for the UK currently stands at severe (the highest level it can be).
Another devastating natural disaster was the #Earthquake in Mexico City. This has resulted in atleast 216 people being killed. The #Earthquake magnitude was recorded at 7.1. It caused severe destruction to the city and even caused buildings to collapse.
The #ChampionsLeague returned in September to which all football fans were excited with. Being able to listen to the #ChampionsLeague anthem and watching some of the world best teams play against each other. Who are you tipping to win it?
In the technology world #Apple released their new line of phones. These included the #iPhone8, #iPhone8Plus and the #iPhoneX. All of the phones come packed with new software and some slightly different design features. The #iPhoneX was the big talking point of the #AppleEvent with the new phone have a full screen on the front making the classic home button redundant. We will have another look back at the phone when it’s released later in the year.
