Looking back at July 2018

Share

1st August 2018

Another month has come to an end and we’ve taken a look back at the highlights:

  • It’s been pretty well talked about during July and that’s the #Weather and the #Heatwave the UK basked in. During the majority of July Britain endured a #Heatwave and some scorching temperatures. Parts of the UK received temperatures in the high 20s and some in the 30s. So was this a proper summer to you or is it the effects of climate change?
  • Sadly in July Greek experienced one of it’s worst #Wildfires. At the time of writing a the death toll is at 91. The fire raged through the coastal area East of Greece. Many presumed the fire started from the hot temperatures as do many #Wildfires but it’s been reported that the Greek authorities have reason to believe the fire resulted from arson. An official investigation is ongoing and I’m sure we will hear more about this soon.
  • We touched on #LoveIsland in our June post but at the end of July the winner of this years #LoveIsland was announced. We suggest you stop reading if you don’t want to know who the winners are. But the winners of this years #LoveIsland was Dani and Jack. Not that it came of a surprise to many viewers as they’ve been the favourites since day 1. What did you think of this years show? How did it compare to previous years?
  • The #WorldCup concluded in July with France beating Croatia in the final to become #WorldCup champions. England had a great run in the #WorldCup, reaching the semi-finals which unfortunately we lost and resulted in England finishing 4th after failing to beat Belgium in the play offs. France were worthy winners after putting in some excellent performances against some of the best teams. As an England fan we’re already looking forward to the Euros!
  • At the start of July, things weren’t looking good for #TheresaMay after #BorisJohnson became the second Conservative party member to quit in 24 hours. The fallout was over #TheresaMay’s Brexit plan. What are you making of the way Brexit is being handled? By voting leave did you think it was going to get this messy or was it to be expected?
