Looking back at September 2018

Share

1st October 2018

It only seems like yesterday that I was writing up the look back at August. September seems to have disappeared which means it’s nearly acceptable to start talking about that ‘C’ word. We’ve taken a look back at what’s been going on in the World and Twitter during September:

  • The #XFactor returned to our screens in September and with an all new judges’ panel. Ayda Williams, Louis Tomlinson and Robbie Williams joined Simon Cowell for this year’s #XFactor. The auditions were packed with talent and some not so much talent as they normally are. The auditions are now over and we’re heading in to the business end of the show. Robbie Williams has been given the groups, Ayda Williams has been given the overs, Simon Cowell has been given the girls and Louis Tomlinson has been given the boys. Who do you think will win this years #XFactor?
  • Sadly during September, television and the world lost someone who most people will relate to their childhood. The creator or Postman Pat and Rose and Jim sadly passed away. #JohnCunliffe died at the age of 85 after a short illness. Tributes have been pouring in for #JohnCunliffe from everywhere including Twitter. May he rest in peace.
  • It was the return of the #ChampionsLeague last month, one of the greatest competitions in club football. There are some tough groups this year and some big teams already losing their opening games. Liverpool set down an early marker, beating PSG in the opening game. As did last years winner, Real Madrid who are entering the competition without Ronaldo. It wasn’t meant to be for Ronaldo as he was sent off in his #ChampionsLeague debut for Juventus. He has however been cleared to play Manchester United after only receiving a one match ban. Who are you backing to win this years competition?
  • Staying on the football topic, EA Sports released #FIFA19 at the end of September. A title that is released yearly but always gets gamers and football fans excited. Last year EA Sports made some serious waves in the eSports world and will be hoping this years game will take them even further.
  • At the end of September Macmillan had one of their coffee mornings, #MacmillanCoffeeMorning. The idea of the event is for people across the UK to have a coffee, a slice of cake and raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We hope that this years #MacmillanCoffeeMorning was a great success and lots of money and awareness was raised. Head over to Twitter to see some of the fantastic efforts put in.
