October has come to an end and we’re now heading in November. Where has the time gone this year? I guess it’s now acceptable to start mentioning Christmas… Whilst we leave you to think about that we took a look back at what happened in October:

  • Sadly at the end of October #Leicester City lost their chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. After their game against West Ham, the chairman’s helicopter crashed just outside the stadium. Sadly no one survived the incident. We learnt that in total there were 5 people on board the helicopter. This lead to #Leicester’s match against Southampton being postponed. #Leicester City on the 30th October had a book of condolence that the public could sign, which will be shared with the Srivaddhanaprabha family. For those that couldn’t make it to the stadium, an online version was created. We’re really sad to hear about the passing of all the passengers on board the helicopter and we send our condolences to their families, friends and anyone affected by the incident.
  • #DaylightSavings came to an end at the end of October, meaning the clocks went back an hour. Although people gained an extra hour in bed, it does now mean that the evenings will be darker much earlier. For those of you that finish work around 5pm, it will soon be dark when you finish.
  • During October #Halloween took place on the 31st October. Each year #Halloween seems to get bigger and bigger across the UK. Maybe it’s because of all the sweets and chocolate on offer? Costumes are getting more creative, decorations are becoming more popular and the kids love it. #Halloween was great once again even if the temperature did drop a little. We hope everyone had a great #Halloween.
  • At the end of October we also learnt of another aviation incident, this time involving a passenger plane in Indonesia. Officials in Indonesia said a #LionAir passenger flight crashed into the sea with 189 people on board. The flight lost contact shortly after take off from Jakarta. Sadly it doesn’t look like anyone survived the incident. We send we send our condolences to the families, friends and anyone affected by the incident. Hopefully over the course of the next few months we will hear how it happened.
  • In October suspicious packages containing explosive devices have been sent to what appear to be critics of Donald Trump. The devices had been sent in the post to people like Robert De Niro, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and CNN’s New York Office. An investigation is currently underway to find out who is responsible for this. Luckily all packages were intercepted before reaching the intended recipients. We’re hoping no more packages like these are sent.
