We can officially start to think about Christmas and sure many of you have now started your Christmas shopping or maybe even have finished.

Let’s take a look back at November:

  • One story that captured the world in a heart breaking aviation incident at the end of November was the plane crash in #Colombia which claimed the lives of 76 people. Among the casualties was a Brazilian football team, #Chapecoense. A very sad story which has also brought football teams and fans together all over the world in paying their respects to the #Brazilian football team who were writing their very own fairy tale after coming up from Serie C in 2012 to Seria A and the Copa Sudamericana final in 2016. The Hashtag Directory send their thoughts and condolences to the friends and family of the victims.
  • Another story that cropped up at the end of November was the #NationalLottery accounts that were hacked. Over 25,000 accounts were accessed in a cyber-attack. #Camelot say that they detected some suspicious activity on a small proportion of online accounts. Depending on your account type, data accessed could include your name, date of birth, transaction history and account preferences. If you have a debit card registered then the last 4 digits of your card number and expiry date may have been accessed. If you have a direct debit then your bank sort code and the last four digits of your bank account may have been accessed. Not the best of news for #NationalLottery customers.
  • During November we enjoyed #GuyFawkes which we often associate with #BonfireNight and #FireworkNight although they often run throughout the weeks around #GuyFawkes. The history of the nights events go back as far as the 5th November 1605, when #GuyFawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives placed beneath the House of Lords. If you have any pictures of your bonfire or any pictures of your firework display then tweet us some pictures!
  • Towards the end of November we were treated to a spectacular view of the Moon, known as the #SuperMoon on that night. The reason for this #SuperMoon is because it’s the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. Now this all depends on a clear night, so unfortunately for some of the UK, some admirers missed out. If you captured any great images of the #SuperMoon we’d love to see them.
  • The big news over in the US and perhaps also surprising news to some people was the appointment of the latest President Elect #DonaldTrump. Seen as a controversial character in the election, he beat all odds to become the next President of the United States. #DonaldTrump will move into the Whitehouse early 2017 and only time will tell if he was the right choice or not.
