Looking back at December 2019

Share

6th January 2020

Apologies for the delay in getting this entry out, it was a pretty hectic start to 2020. That being said we’re looking back at the final month of 2019 as we begin 2020.

Let’s see what happened in December 2019:

  • The big topic in December is of course #Christmas. A time we celebrate with family and friends. Unfortunately, if you live in the UK it certainly wasn’t a white #Christmas. We hope everyone had a wonderful #Christmas and also enjoyed their break if they were lucky enough to get one.
  • The #Election finally took place in December with Conservatives and Boris Johnson taking the win. The #election resulted in a Conservative landslide majority win of 80 seats. The result of the election saw the Conservatives strengthening their position on Brexit, with Boris Johnson securing a mandate to ensure the UK's departure from the European Union on 31 January 2020. Hopefully this means Brexit will now go ahead as planned and there are no more barriers. Only time will tell though.
  • The #XboxSeriesX was announced at the back end of 2019. This console is Microsoft’s next generation console planned for launch in 2020. If you’re a gamer and have read the specs that this console is packing some serious power and kit. We can’t wait to hear more about the #XboxSeriesX during the course of 2020.
  • #Netflix released the second series of #You on Boxing Day (of 2019) and fans of the show couldn’t wait. The whole series was dropped on Boxing Day meaning fans could binge watch the whole series if you wish. We have watched it also, but we won’t mention anything about the story as we don’t want to ruin it for people who haven’t watched it yet. We can however highly recommend that you watch both of the series.
  • Fans of #Football would have enjoyed the Christmas period with all the festive period as games were being played in quick succession. This meant that English games were taking place nearly every other day if not every day. These types of fixtures are what draw criticism with fans as other leagues across Europe take their winter break. Anyway we hope you enjoyed the #football over the Christmas break!
